DeathKlok Concert at San Diego Comic Con 2012

(Disclaimer: When I told everyone that I was going to a Dethklok concert. They started to develop a thirst for my blood. All of a sudden, all of my friends wanted me dead. I still amazed, that I’m still alive. The whole reason why I got in was because I follow Adult Swim’s fan page on Facebook. Then I had wait three hours before the Con even opened, so I can get the wristband. Don’t hate the playa, hate the game. Now onto the article.)
In 2006 Adult Swim started to air a show called Metalocalypse. The show was about the world’s greatest band in history, Dethklok, and their millions of fans. What surprised a lot of people was the simple fact that whoever played Dethklok’s music ripped. They ripped so much that they released two complete studio albums. Both of them making the top 100 in the billboard charts.
Even though the band virtually contained 5 virtual members. Most of all the music was made by one dude. His name was Brendon Small. This dude did it all: vocals, guitars, and drums. When Dethklok did the tour, Dethtour, Brendon recruited 3 more members for the live portions of the show.
A few weeks ago, Adult Swim announced that they was do a live show with Dethklok concert on the USS Midway in San Diego for Comic-Con. The show was free, and all you had to do was reserve your spot and receive a wristband at their booth at the convention center. Tickets sold out fast, you could’ve sworn it was your first time all over again. Trust me, there were a lot of tears and awkward silence.
The concert started out amazingling. First was the ambiance, all the security guards was dressed exactly like the security in the show. How the band enter the scene was badass. A helicopter landed on the aircraft carrier like a boss. If you were old enough, you got two free drink tickets Wait, there is free alcohol and free Dethklok. What happens next, sex robots. Sadly the robots never came, but they did have a kick ass DJ to open the show with a bang.
Then, darkness. Out of the blue comes an epic guitar riff. With the crowd putting out the horns and Dethklok in a rhythmic fashion. Brendon Small starts to sing. Now, If you have not been to a virtual band concert. Here is how the do. First, they get the lights right to overshadow the the actual band playing. Then they show video with the virtual band playing and being epic. The concert was very awesome. They played all my favorites like Murmaider, Hatredcopter, The Fansong, and of course Thunderhorse. The only song they didn’t play, and I wish they did was Bloodrocuted. With that aside the concert went pretty smoothly. They had some pretty funny intermissions. From Facebones telling guys not to be a douchebag to Dr. Rockso asking us to give him money. When concert ended, the just began. Girl Talk ended the show awesomely. With his pop song remixing and impeccable timing. Girl Talk was Amazing.
When it was midnight, and my vocal chords sore from screaming so loud. I had a wonderful time. Adult Swim and Dethklok knows how to take care of their fans. This was my peak in Comic-Con 2012.
