Are You Ready to ROCK?! - Rock of Ages Movie Review

I wanna rock. I love rocking out to musicals and music, I dance and sing at the top of my lungs. I’m a big rock and roll machine. Ok maybe I just wish I was. This movie makes me feel that way. It starts at Paradise City and Sister Christian taking you through a full on musical journey of rock and roll. I am a die hard 80’s music fan so for me this is truly up my alley and more so I don’t mind hearing reimaginations of music. I know for some people that is a deal breaker and understand the reasoning behind it, but I don’t mind. Every once in a while you may hear me say, really don’t like that version. Usually though I tend to enjoy each song if I already loved it for the uniqueness the players brought to the show.

So for starters, the cast is really phenomimal together, they truly shine as an ensemble. Alone each actor really does a fabulous performance. From Russel Brand to Tom Cruise to Catherine Zeta Jones each bring a sparkle to the show that shines and makes the show better in whole. Julianne Hough is great as Sherrie, Diego Boneta is wonderful as Drew, Tom Cruise just rocks the stage as Stacee Jaxx. Catherine Zeta Jones is hilarious in her role as the mayors wife dead set on destroying rock and roll.

The movie is fun, the music is great and the story is believable for the time it is placed in. I loved the film and think it is worth shelling out the cash to see it.
